Senior Patrol Leader's Handbook - One of the best resources for any youth leader in the troop. It goes into detail about the role of an SPL, how to build troop spirit, how to plan the troop program, how to run troop meetings, how to run good activities and campouts, how to be a good SPL; and the relationship between the adult leadership team, the youth leadership team, and the SPL. It's about $12 from the scout shop. I highly recommend this book!

Intro to Leadership Skills for Troops (ILST) Syllabus - ILST should be run for the new youth leaders after every election. This should include the Senior Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Patrol Leaders, Troop Guide, and Junior Assistant Scoutmaster. It's training for youth leadership positions. The Senior Patrol Leader and Scoutmaster run the course together.

National Youth Leadership Training - A week-long summer program that Scouts BSA offers to aspiring youth leaders.
National Honor Patrol Award - An award given to honorable patrols. If your patrol meets the requirements, you will be earn the award. You can earn the award every three months if you meet all the requirements in that three month period.
